Guidelines for the implementation of Clear Zones (865 kb)
These guidelines do not seek to “set out law” on how to implement Clear Zones because each Clear Zone concept will be different, but to be a helping tool that identifies what is thought to be the necessary elements for successfully implementing Clear Zones. They also draw together examples of good practice that are being trialled at the moment in the UK.

Monitoring framework of Clear Zones volume 1 study findings (1 Mb)

The primary aim of this study was to draw together existing information to provide guidance to the Trailblazer sites on assessment of economic and social impacts. New funding and organisational mechanisms to create Clear Zones (215 kb)
One of the objectives of the Clear Zones programme is to “Identify barriers to using technology to create a Clear Zone”. The Working Cities Group of the Clear Zones programme has considered these barriers and developed proposals for using new funding and organisational mechanisms to overcome the most significant of them. This paper presents a discussion of these proposals for Local Authorities and other organisations concerned with setting up Clear Zones.

This guide is a complementary document signposting local authorities, voluntary sector groups, small companies and individuals to relevant sources of funding for projects pursuing the same goals as Clear Zones. They are mainly public or voluntary sector sources suitable for small pilot schemes, rather than full-scale city change, which will require private sector funding raised from users.

This paper shares the data Clear Zones has collected on the applied technology delivering improved mobility and environments in urban areas. A project database on http:\\www.foresight.gov.uk backs the paper with examples. It demonstrates that a lively market exists for environment-friendly and people-friendly transport solutions.
