Letters to stakeholders about C&S consultation events
Dear stakeholder
RTFO CARBON AND SUSTAINABILITY REPORTING
Malcolm Fendick's email of 21 June drew your attention to the Government's consultation on how carbon and sustainability reporting is likely to work under the RTFO (details at http://www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/roads/environment/rtfo/).
This email is to let you know that the Department for Transport intends to run a number of events during the consultation period to hear your views on the detailed issues raised by the consultation document.
The event which is likely to be of interest to most stakeholders will be a workshop on Thursday 26th July from 2.30pm - 5.30pm which will address the broad approach and general issues raised by the consultation document, particularly the questions summarised in Annex K.
In addition to this, we will be running three very detailed technical workshops to review the greenhouse gas calculation methodology for different biofuel production pathways (including discussion of individual default values). The details of these are:
Monday 23rd July, 1-5pm. This session will cover bioethanol fuel chains and ETBE.
Tuesday 24th July, 9.30am – 1pm. This session will cover biodiesel fuel chains
Tuesday 24th July, 2pm – 5pm. Following lunch this session will cover the remaining biodiesel fuel chains and will also address biomethane.
If you would like to attend the 26 July workshop, or any of the technical workshops, please let us know as soon as possible by email to rtfo.consultation@dft.gsi.gov.uk . All of the events will take place in the DfT's offices at 76 Marsham Street, London SW1P 4DR. A detailed agenda for the 26 July workshop will be available very shortly.
Best wishes,
Rupert Furness
RTFO Programme Director
