Letter to Stakeholders - Parliamentary debates
Dear stakeholder
We now have confirmation that the RTFO Order will be debated in the Houses of Parliament next week:
- In the House of Lords, on the floor of the House, at approximately 6:30 pm on Monday 22nd Oct, 2007; and
- In the House of Commons, in Standing Committee, on Tuesday 23rd Oct, 2007 at 4:30pm (venue not yet confirmed).
There is capacity for public attendance at both debates.
Subsequently, if the Standing Committee so moves, there will be a vote on the floor of the House of Commons. If this, and the vote in the Lords, are both in favour, then the Order will have been approved by both Houses.
It would then be made by the Minister shortly afterwards.
