Letter regarding RTFO Stakeholder Workshop: 10 January 2007
From Rupert Furness
Programme Director, Renewable Transport Fuel Obligation Programme
Dear Stakeholder
As Malcolm Fendick is on leave, I am writing to let you know about the latest developments in the RTFO Programme. I am pleased to be able to tell you that we have now developed the RTFO scheme to the point where we expect to be able formally to consult in February. I am very grateful to everybody for their help in taking the RTFO to this point
A workshop was held on 10 January in order to seek views on two remaining issues:
- the definition of the obligated company
- the calculation of the obligation
Attached to this note is a report of the meeting covering the presentations and the points made in discussion. We will put the report as well as the power point slides on the RTFO website at: www.dft.gov.uk/pgr/roads/environment/rtfo/
Piloting the Carbon and Sustainability Reporting
Ecofys and E4Tech have now delivered documents covering the methodology for the development of the technical guidance for the carbon and sustainability reporting and these too will be put on the RTFO website.
A number of companies which expressed an interest in piloting this guidance have now been selected. The pilots will take place between April and June 2007.
Yours sincerely
Rupert Furness
