The Notified National Technical Rules detailed below were notified to the European Commission on 11 March 2010, and are the latest set to be notified.
Newsflash
A national review of the requirements set out in a suite of standards associated with fire safety and evacuation on rail vehicles has resulted in the withdrawal of GM/RT2120 issue 2 from the current list of UK Notified National Technical Rule and the notification of GM/RT2130 Issue 1.
GM/RT2130 Issue 1 mandates requirements for the provision of rail vehicle fire, safety and evacuation arrangements. In particular, it addresses matters of rail vehicle design associated with fire safety, diesel propulsion, emergency lighting, emergency and safety equipment, emergency and safety information and emergency evacuation.
The Rail Safety and Standards Board has informed the Department that Compliance with Notified National Technical Rule GM/RT2130 represents current best practice and satisfies the requirement to comply with the: British standards BS6853, GM/RT2120 Issue 2 and AV/ST9002 Issue 1 in Clause 7.1.7 of the HS RST TSI.
