Enforcement of Commercial Vehicle Traffic and Roadworthiness Regulations
Operators of goods vehicles and passenger carrying vehicles used commercially are required to meet various traffic and roadworthiness regulations, which are summarised in the Freight Logistics web pages. The Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) in conjunction with other authorities, is responsible for enforcing these regulations in line with Department for Transport (DfT) policies. VOSA are also responsible for impounding illegally operated heavy goods vehicles in line with DfT policies.
