Freight Best Practice programme impact assessment (533 kb)

The Department for Transport’s Freight Best Practice (FBP) programme aims to reduce the environmental impact of the freight industry in England through improved operational efficiency. The programme impact was quantified in fuel savings and reduction in carbon emissions during telephone interviews with truck operators. This report shows that FBP users have achieved significant financial and carbon savings through the fuel efficiency measures they have implemented.

Safed impact assessment 2007

SAFED (Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving) scheme aims to improve the driving techniques of drivers of heavy goods vehicles through training. This will result in improved fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. Databuild was commissioned by the Department to evaluate the impact of SAFED, in particular to measure the cost effectiveness and potential of the programme in England.
