Certificates of exemption
Under Regulation 36 of The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2004, the Health and Safety Executive (Secretary of State for Transport after 21st July 2005) may issue exemptions that allow carriage without certain requirements or prohibitions otherwise applied to domestic carriage under the Carriage Regulations. Such exemptions may be subject to other conditions (including a time limit), and may be revoked at any time by a further certificate.
Please note that Certificates of Exemption made under former Regulations are no longer valid. If you believe that this may affect your transport operation, you should check the list of revocations in Schedule 14 of the 2004 Carriage Regulations.
