Aviation permits - application forms

Any airline or operator using a foreign registered aircraft for commercial flights to/from or within the UK, which fall outside the EC market access regulations, requires an operating permit from the Secretary of State for Transport.

Applications for operating permits must be received at least 48 hours in advance of the first proposed flight at the Department for Transport (DfT). Applications must be made using the appropriate forms and must comply fully with DfT's documentary requirements. Operating permits will only be issued if the correct fully completed applications forms are received within the correct timeline.

Please note that certain aircraft and airlines will not be granted permission owing to safety issues.

Further information is available in the Aviation Permits - Further Information section including information on extra-bilateral flights and safety requirements.
