Reforming the framework for the economic regulation of UK airports - This consultation seeks views on the UK Government’s proposals to reform the framework for the economic regulation of the UK airports sector. The proposals are intended to provide a flexible economic regulatory framework for the sector that puts the passenger experience at the centre of the regulatory decision-making and processes, as well as emphasising the environment, financeability and the principles of Better Regulation.

Extension of consultation period

The consultation period has been extended from 01 June 2009 to 05 June 2009.

This document provides a summary of stakeholder responses received in relation to the DfT’s September 2008 submission to the Competition Commission’s BAA Market Investigation following publication of its Provisional Findings. Some stakeholders have also taken into account the ‘Emerging Thinking’ of the Expert Panel published in November 2008. Respondents included passenger groups, airport operators, airlines, local government groups, the regulator and individuals.
