NPTG & NaPTAN CSV Formats 1.4
In addition to exchange as an XML document conforming to the NaPTAN XML schema, data may also be exchanged in a simple flat file representation, with a file for each table using Common Separated Variables (CSV) format for each of the values of each row:
- NPTG CSV Schema 1.x (Export only from central database)
- NaPTAN CSV Schema 1.x (Import and export)
- Migration paths from 1.x to 2.x using csv and XML

Migration to NaPTAN & NPTG Schema from 1.x to 2.x
Version 1.x and 2.x of NaPTAN and NPTG coexisted side by side until December 2006.
The following diagram shows the migration paths from the 1.x to the 2.x schema, and the supported back compatibility. Minor changes to the NaPTAN 1.x schema from 1.1 to 1.4 enable this migration.
