It has recently been brought to our attention that a copy of a Unitor Emergency Escape Breathing Device (EEBD) – Model: Uniscape 15H – has been found onboard a vessel.
This copy does not comply with IMO safety standards and does not display the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) ‘wheelmark’. It SHOULD NOT be used as an emergency escape breathing device as it may cause asphyxiation of the wearer.
