Further to previous communication from the Norwegian Maritime Directorate with respect to allegedly sub-standard lifebuoys manufactured by EVAL, the report from tests carried out on subject buoys concludes that these buoys conform to requirements contained in the LSA Code 2.1.1.3/ MSC 81(70) 1.6.

Please find attached:

1.       The report compiled by the testing laboratory (Norwegian text).

2.       An English translation of the report compiled by the testing laboratory.

It should however be mentioned, that lifebuoys in general should be subjected to regular inspections and maintenance in order to determine that the intended function remain intact.
