Routine Resurvey

The waters surrounding the British Isles are a dynamic, high energy environment. Where seabed sediments are typically comprised of sand, hydrodynamic processes suspend the material causing it to be highly mobile. In order to maintain navigation safety within these areas, the Civil Hydrography Programme carries out the MCA's seabed resurvey strategy, to regulary monitor and assess areas of mobile seabed.

To support the MCA's resurvey strategy, the UK Hydrographic Office undertake analyses of the survey results and identify changes that have occurred. They also advise whether limits and survey frequencies should be revised.
