This page contains links to the comments received in response to the consultation documents for the Review of Medical Health Standards, the Regulations for which are due to come into force in January 2010.  

A wide variety of comments were received and these have all been taken into account by the MCA.  The main issues raised by respondents surrounded the topics of the validity period of the ENG 1 certificate and the role of the seafarer in reporting any medical condition to their employer and an MCA Approved Doctor.
