At ten minutes to three this afternoon, Humber Coastguard called out Coastguard teams from Redcar, Skinningrove and Staithes to a report of a woman trapped on the cliffs at Huntcliffe, near Redcar. The Redcar RNLI Lifeboats and a rescue helicopter were requested. The Lifeboats found the woman at the base of the cliff trapped by the tide but unhurt. Yarmouth Coastguard have been working this evening to co-ordinate the rescue of 17 people (11 adults plus 6 children, including a three month old baby) and two dogs cut off at Scolt Head Island, a nature reserve. The island is on the North Norfolk coast, 10 km west of Wells-Next-The-Sea. The site is reached by a ferry from the village of Burnham Overy Staithe on the A149.
