FATAL ACCIDENT INQUIRY : DEATH OF KAYLEE McINTOSH

The Sheriffs Determination following the Fatal Accident Inquiry (FAI) at Stornoway and Inverness Sheriff Courts was issued today by Sheriff Alasdair Lorne MacFadyen. The Maritime & Coastguard Agency extends its profound sympathies to the family and friends of Kaylee McIntosh 14, from Fyvie in Aberdeenshire, who drowned in August 2007after an army cadet boat capsized off South Uist.  read more..

A multi-unit search has been underway all morning for a missing female who was seen to walk into the water at Redcar, Cleveland, shortly before 7.40am this morning. EMERGENCY SERVICES EXERCISE FIRE ON SHIP WITH BRITTANY FERRIES

An exercise, named Exercise Piran, will test the emergency services response to a fire at sea between Roscoff and Plymouth on Wednesday, 13 May. The exercise will involve the Brittany Ferries ship, MV Armorique, which will report a fire via a distress call on VHF radio. The ships Captain will request firefighting assistance.  read more..

At ten minutes to six this evening, Portland Coastguard received a call from South West Ambulance reporting two men had fallen from cliffs at Durdle Door, near Lulworth Cove. One man had fallen from the top of the 150ft cliffs to the bottom, the second was trapped in a crevice about 20ft down from the cliff top. read more..
