MARPOL

All yachts, whether commercial or private, must comply with MARPOL, where applicable.

• Annex 1.  OIL POLLUTION - if over 400 GT.  MCA will approve SOPEP

• Annex IV.  SEWAGE POLLUTION - if over 400 GT or carrying more than 15 persons.  Refer to MGN 385 and MSN 1807

Any surveys or relevant certification are delegated to one of the six recognised Classification Societies.
