MARINE INFORMATION NOTE MIN 424 (M) provides guidance on the acceptance of Service Suppliers, to work on lifeboats, rigid rescue boats, launching appliances and on-load release gear on-board UK Ships.

The MCA authorises existing MCA approved Independent Lifeboat Service and Testing Organisation (ILSTO), until such a time as their approval expires, to conduct this work, as per MIN 424 (M) Paragraph 3.3.

Independent Lifeboats Servicing and Testing Organisations

Merchant Shipping Notice MSN 1803 (M) ANNEX Appendix 3 provides details of the requirements for the approval of Independent Lifeboats Servicing and Testing Organisations. This approval is no longer being given and MSN 1803 (M) ANNEX Appendix 3 has been replaced by MIN 424 (M).
