SACTRA - The Standing Advisory Committee on Trunk Road Assessment

Background to SACTRA

SACTRA has provided advice on transport issues since the mid- seventies. The first committee, the Advisory Committee on Trunk Road Assessment (ACTRA) was set up in December 1976.

SACTRA followed the ACTRA report with further reports on various transport-related remits. The last formal report, Transport and the Economy, was published in August 1999.

There is no current SACTRA set up and there are no current plans to provide a new remit.
