Open: Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. On the second Wednesday of each month the office will be open from 9.30 am to 5.00 pm.

Directions

By Car

  • travelling North on the A1(M), cross the River Tyne and leave the motorway at the exit sign posted Wideopen, Gosforth Park
  • follow the slip road down to a large roundabout and take the third exit from that roundabout sign posted North Gosforth (B1318)
  • join the dual carriageway, now travelling South and go straight ahead over the next two roundabouts
  • approaching the third roundabout (with supermarket on the left) keep to the right hand lane and go straight ahead at the roundabout towards a set of traffic lights, staying in the right hand lane
  • at the traffic lights turn right and once across the oncoming lanes of traffic take an immediate left turn onto Regant Farm Road
  • follow the road for 100 metres around a right hand bend and the entrance to Eagle Star House visitors car park is on the left hand side

    • By Bus

  • departing Haymarket bus station in Newcastle city centre, numerous buses to Regent Centre are available at regular intervals
  • getting off the bus (facing the entrance to the Metro station) turn left and follow the road bearing to your right (approx 400 metres)
  • ahead of you, across a minor road, is a tall single building which is 'Eagle Star House' (situated next door to the public library)
  • cross this road and you’ll note the entrance to a signed private car park belonging to the building
  • the DVLA public office is situated on the ground floor of this building

    • By Train

  • Gosforth is serviced by the Metro system and a station is situated at Regent Centre
  • take the 'Green Airport Line' to the Regent Centre
  • on leaving the Metro station turn right and follow the road, bearing to your right (approx 400 metres)
  • ahead of you, across a minor road, is a tall single building which is 'Eagle Star House' (situated next door to the public library)
  • cross this road and you’ll note the entrance to a signed private car park belonging to the building
  • the DVLA public office is situated on the ground floor of this building
