Approved driving instructor (ADI) branch maintains the register of ADIs including:

• updating personal details of all registered driving instructors
• issuing renewal reminders
• issuing ADI certificates and licences
• offering advice to members of the public on related matters
• instigating enforcement action for illegal instruction
• supporting the registrar in the administration of the register

Advice is also provided on the following aspects of the ADI qualification process:

• theory test – including fit and proper checks and entitlement checks
• second trainee licence applications
