Summary: Consultation on changes to the Road Vehicle Lighting Regulations and Construction and Use Regulations. These proposals aim to improve the visibility of large goods vehicles, permit vehicles, such as police cars, to use distinctive retro-reflective markings (battenburg), allow mountain rescue vehicles used for emergency purposes to be fitted with blue warning beacons and sirens and to make minor amendments to align with European regulations and clarify the use of lights on parked goods vehicles.
