Requirements for “Gas Oil” used in Non Road Mobile Machinery and Agricultural and Forestry Tractors: Consultation on Draft Regulations
This letter invites your comments on draft regulations which would enable the Secretary of State to grant temporary exemptions from one or more of the environmental standards in motor fuel regulations for gas oil components in the event of exceptional events resulting in refineries being unable to meet any of the standards.
This consultation is likely to be of interest to producers, importers, distributors and retailers of gas oil for use in non road mobile machinery and agricultural and forestry tractors, environmental bodies and devolved administrations. Comments from any other businesses, groups or individuals would also be welcomed.
Attached for your consideration are:
- a consultation document containing a description of our proposals;
- the draft regulations;
- a list of organisations consulted.
The consultation period will run for 12 weeks from 1 February to 25 April 2008. If you wish to respond to this invitation, please submit your comments to the above address by the latter date, using the form at pages 5 and 6 of the consultation document.
