Postcode Search - Cranford agreement
Please note: this consultation closed on 27 February 2008.
The Cranford agreement is a general rule since the 1950s that easterly departures should use the southern runway rather than the northern, to protect Cranford residents from departure noise. We have reviewed the noise effects with and without the Cranford agreement (which would need to be ended during any period of mixed mode operations). Our provisional view is that there is merit in ending the agreement regardless of any other decisions, in order to share noise more fairly around the airport but we are inviting views.
