Protective marking scheme
The National Collision Report Forms are fully compliant with Protective Marking standards. The information on the pages of the report marked 'RESTRICTED' will only be shared with those having a right to the information. The statistical forms, which contain no personal data, are marked 'UNCLASSIFIED' and may be passed to others unrestricted
This space, which will vary in size in different reports, is intended for the recording of additional material not catered for elsewhere. In addition, some forces may require its use for recording evidence of offences or for interviews if these are not specifically catered for elsewhere.
Comments or Recommendations
This space may not be provided in all reports. Where it is provided, police officers should follow their force policy about the information that is required.
It may be used to record the reporting officer's recommendations about prosecution action, or the interviewing of potential witnesses or about no further action being appropriate. It is intended to assist Criminal Justice Departments to decide upon further action.

Each 'field' is governed by rules. In completing these fields it MUST BE REMEMBERED that the codes selected in one field may have a direct effect on codes in other fields.
